Three common number paths
- Use a new NevoDesk-enabled number and publish it to customers.
- Forward the existing business number to the NevoDesk-enabled destination while the original carrier remains responsible for the number.
- Port an eligible number to a supported SIP or telephony provider so the new provider becomes responsible for call delivery.
Before porting
- Confirm the current carrier account, exact service address, authorized owner, number type, portability, and any contractual restrictions.
- Do not cancel the old service before the port completes.
- Preserve emergency-service, fax, alarm, messaging, or multi-number dependencies that may share the current account.
- Plan a cutover window, fallback number, and inbound/outbound validation calls.
What NevoDesk records
NevoDesk records the chosen connection method, the number or SIP identity, workspace/location assignment, provider state, test evidence, and operational route. Introductory-offer eligibility can also consider a previously used SIP connection or forwarded number so changing email addresses does not create a second business promotion.
This article is part of the same maintained knowledge corpus used by NevoGuide. Live provider evidence and saved workspace configuration remain authoritative for your account’s current operational state.
